2019: A Story by The Ice Co Storage & Logistics.

2019 has been a massive year for The Ice Co Storage & Logistics, here’s some of our main highlights. With a new decade on the horizon we wanted to take a look back and share what we have been doing these past 12 months, including our Annual Charity Day, significant investment into our racking projects and also a brand new blog for 2019!

January: A Red Carpet Premiere of our new Company video!

We started 2019 off with a bang! After months of preparations and filming, we launched our brand new company video: Meet The Ice Co Storage & Logistics. The video gives an insight into our company with information on the services which we offer. You might even spot some familiar faces.

Have a watch below to find out what it is we do day in and day out!

April: The Ice Co Storage & Logistics went all OddBalls!

April is officially Testicular Cancer Awareness month and with this in mind we partnered with The Oddballs Foundation.

The OddBalls Foundation was set up in 2016 to raise awareness for Testicular Cancer, whose success is down to the flamboyant underwear and sportwear brand OddBalls Apparel. We jazzed up one of our trailers with one of OddBalls most popular designs for our #IceColdBalls campaign to help raise awareness with our employees but also up and down the roads of the UK!

May: Can we Fix it? Yes we can…

Historically all of our chambers at our South Kirkby site had narrow aisle static racking, and chamber 12 was no different. At the time, holding up to 3,500 pallets we decided it was time for an upgrade…

Working with Jungheinrich we removed our existing racking and replaced it with wide aisle mobile racking, which enables us more space to manoeuvre equipment, quickly pull stock and also gives us an additional 2,000 pallet spaces, over a 50% increase in pallet spaces in one chamber!

Keep an eye out in 2020 for more racking upgrades…

June: Move over Academy Awards, The TCS&D is in town…

The TCS&D Awards fell in June, and this year we had been nominated for 3 Awards! The OddBalls Campaign for Partnership & Livery and another Partnership nomination with Star Refrigeration for all the work they have done on our South Kirkby site on a new Ethos Energy Management System.

All the hard work certainly paid off…We won the TCS&D 2019 Partnership Award along with Star Refrigeration. Congratulations to everyone involved!

July: Golf Day? Yes Please!

Time for a little break and wind-down now as we were invited to the Annual Greggs Charity Golf day up in Newcastle! With two teams from The Ice Co Storage & Logistics, it was a great day for some friendly team building competition and raising money for charity.

August: DIY SOS…

Refurb Time! Part of our plans for The Ice Co Storage & Logistics was to have a universal feel about our brand and our people, so we decided to start with a few brand upgrades… We worked with local company HG Graphics, to look at some trailer wrap designs. They had previously designed a new geometric pattern to go on our Scania Trailer Cabs and we decided to expand that onto the trailers too.

We also refurbed our Management Suite. We wanted this new design to run through The Ice Co Storage & Logistics, and we did. Bright blues and patterns now run through our new open plan office!

September: It’s not just about a donation, it’s about making a difference!

September brought along our annual Charity Day with sister company The Ice Co. The day was filled with delicious food, sweet delicacies and not forgetting some impressive prizes up for grabs on our main raffle!

Throughout the day, we ask employees to nominate charities that they wish for the money raised to go towards, this makes the day more special as it means those charities, we donate to have a real meaning to our team. Together with the money we raised in the lead up, on the day and the annual donation from the company, we raised a staggering £11,829.20 splitting this between 31 charities..

Great work team!

November: Annual Luncheons, ooh la la…

The Ice Co Storage & Logistics and The Ice Co attended the British Frozen Food Federation’s Annual Luncheon held at London Hilton Park Lane. This was an opportunity to hear latest industry news, meet colleagues and customers and to celebrate the last year of work within the Cold Chain sector.

With the year coming to an end, all of us from The Ice Co Storage & Logistics would like to thank everyone for all their hard work, to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Watch out 2020, we are coming for you…
